Why use Ray instead of Chrome or Opera GX?
Ray is the first browser built specifically for web gaming. Unlike Chrome or OperaGX, Ray lets you instantly discover and play top browser games through a dedicated portal—no installs, no setup. You can game and multitask seamlessly with built-in splitscreen, with special support for apps like Discord and YouTube. Plus, Ray is up to 30% faster than Chrome in WebGL performance tests (MotionMark benchmark).
Is Ray safe, secure and private?
Yes. Ray is built on the Chromium engine, which is known for its robust security architecture and regular updates to guard against emerging threats. In addition to this technical foundation, Ray is based in Finland and fully complies with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), widely regarded as the strictest data privacy law in the world. This means your personal data is handled with transparency, limited collection, and strong protections by default. Ray does not sell or store personalized data for advertising or third-party monetization. You can game and browse with confidence, knowing your privacy is protected by both strong technical safeguards and legally binding privacy standards.
Why is my antivirus or firewall blocking Ray?
Some antivirus tools flag new apps by mistake. If this happens, allowlist Ray or temporarily disable your antivirus, run the installer, and then turn protection back on. As more users install Ray, most tools stop flagging it.
Do I need an account to use Ray?
No, Ray does not require a user account. You can access all of Ray's features, including discovering and playing games, without the need to sign up or log in. However, some games may require you to create an account, but this is handled directly by the game itself, not by Ray.
How far along is Ray in development?
